The Lindenhurst Memorial Library owns a 3D printer that is available for use by the public. Our 3D printer is the Ultimaker 2+.
You must have a Lindenhurst Memorial Library adult card in good standing to use the 3D printer.
There are two options when printing an item from the 3D printer:
- Download a pre-existing 3D model from the Internet. We recommend https://www.thingiverse.com.
- Design an item using a 3D modeling program such as: https://www.tinkercad.com.
Fill out and read the 3D Printer Policy & Application when submitting a printing request. After receiving your application and USB drive, a library staff member will review your application and make sure it does not violate the 3D print policy and that the file is less than 25MB.
If your application is approved, a library staff member will contact you with more information about the cost and an estimated date of delivery. You will be contacted once the item is printed, and will be given your object along with your USB drive after payment.
