The 2025-26 annual budget and trustee election is scheduled at the library for Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 10:00am-8:00pm. The library’s annual report, proposed budget and trustee information will be available on the library’s website beginning March 10, 2025, and will be sent to all homes as a separate budget and annual report mailer.
One position is up for election on the Board of Trustees, presently held by Jane Dietz. This position is a five (5) year term of office, expiring on June 30, 2030. If you are interested in running for office and have questions regarding the responsibilities of a publicly elected library trustee, please email Library Director, Lisa Kropp, at lkropp@lindenhurstlibrary.org. Those interested in running for the position must:
1. Be a current resident of the Lindenhurst Union Free School District and may only be nominated by petition.
2. Petitions must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the school district, and the petition shall state the residence of each signer, as well as the name and residence of the candidate.
3. Petition forms will be available at the Customer Service Desk of the library beginning Monday, February 3, 2025.
4. Petitions shall be returned to the office of the Library Director no later than 5:00pm on Monday, March 3, 2025.
