The elegance of afternoon tea and the celebration of Valentine’s Day come together, deliciously, in this program from Margaret M. Johnson. Author of thirteen cookbooks, including Teatime in Ireland, Johnson weaves tea history and Valentine’s Day lore into a formal three-course menu that includes sandwiches and savories, scones and tea breads, and decadent sweets, many based on traditional recipes. A sparkling beverage is served along with tea. Ms. Johnson’s cookbooks will be available for sale and signing along with recipes from today's menu. For a festive touch, patrons should bring their own teacup and saucer.
